The Origin of Pilot & Driver

Pilot & Driver was born out of a shared passion for freedom, exploration, and the art of motion. The founders, Erik Hesson and Grant Lauterbach, bring together a unique fusion of creativity, ambition, and an unyielding drive for excellence.

Grant Lauterbach, on the other hand, found his freedom above the clouds. A retired Fortune 500 executive, he spent decades navigating the complexities of corporate strategy. Yet, it was the serenity of the open skies that became his ultimate passion. As a recreational pilot, Grant understands the thrill of charting a course through endless horizons and the meticulous precision required to command an aircraft.

Their shared appreciation for the beauty of machines and the exhilaration of movement laid the foundation for Pilot & Driver. The brand is a celebration of innovation, craftsmanship, and adventure.
